Book Cover Designers – Resource List for Indie Authors

Art and Brush“A book cover is an invitation — a way of seducing the reader,” writes Christina Miller (novelist, TV screenwriter and author of Selfpublishing on a Shoestring), “It beckons, inviting them to enter the world of your book and dance with your characters for awhile. It makes a promise about what kind of music they’ll be dancing to.” In a piece published at the Huffington Post, Miller explains the critical role played by a book cover especially for indie published books.

If you are an indie author or publisher looking for cover designs for your ebook or print book, here is a list (or at least the beginning of one – it’s a work in progress) which you might use to begin or continue your exploration. Take a look at the designers’ styles and what they are offering. Find out more through the links provided here. Good luck with creating your special “invitation”!

Please note that Inkpsokes does not endorse any of the service providers below. We are providing this list for informational purposes only – for authors or publishers to begin their research for an appropriate cover design. Descriptions of services have also generally been provided by the vendors themselves and are not representations made by Inkspokes. While we do not charge a designer to be included on this list, please note that in some cases, a book designer on the list may be an advertiser on our site or we may be otherwise compensated or work with the designer in cross-promotions.
